Crown Church

About Us

We are a welcoming, diverse Christian church who believe in the historic life, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus, and the empowering work of the Holy Spirit in our lives today.

Our Core Beliefs

We believe in the authority of the Christian Scriptures and hold to the essential Christian beliefs as expressed in the Nicene Creed. All Christian traditions – Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant – have agreed upon this statement of faith from 325AD. We are a member of the Evangelical Alliance’s, and love their statements of faith set out at the foot of this page.

Our Story

Launched in 2002, we have grown into a vibrant church made up of many different nationalities and ages. Situated in the London Borough of Hillingdon, we love to gather locals as well as many from Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and neighbouring boroughs.

We have a community facility called The Living Room in Cowley, Uxbridge, not far from the Brunel University campus. Our offices are based here, and many of our mid-week ministries and courses, as well as our evening prayer meetings, take place here. Our Sunday service is hosted at Bishopshalt School, located close to Hillingdon Hospital.

We believe our story isn’t done yet. We want to continue to grow so that everyone in Hillingdon and surrounding areas can learn about Jesus and enjoy following him alongside others.

Our Mission: “Crown Church exists so that many together may glorify God and enjoy Him forever.”

Below are our values, things that we currently see in Crown Church and want to grow in:

Global Humility

We cross cultural divides, appreciate diversity and honour others. Serving others, learning from others and showing generous hospitality to others.

The Mask Lowered

Living authentically, where relationships are real. Demonstrating kindness, patience and forgiveness to all.

Passionate Commitment

All in. Wholehearted and faithful in our love for Jesus and people.

Boldness

Living with courageous risk-taking faith. Doers as well as hearers.

Compassionate Action

Understanding the suffering of another and being moved to show love.

Newfrontiers

Crown Church is part of Newfrontiers, a worldwide family of churches together on a mission.

Newfrontiers has a passionate commitment to build the church according to New Testament principles, and believes that the most effective form of evangelism is worked out from strong local churches, of which we are approaching 1500 worldwide.

These are churches where the Bible is honoured, the gifts of the Holy Spirit are outworked, each member participates, there is joy in caring for each other, and where there is a desire to make a difference in society and reach those in need.

Our aim is to achieve this by restoring the Church, making disciples, training leaders, planting churches and reaching the nations.

New Ground

Part of Newfrontiers, New Ground is a family of churches across Europe, Brazil and Southern Africa, led by David Holden and a core team.

We believe that God has called us to play our part in His great mission by partnering with others to see many churches planted across the world and to see communities transformed by the love of Jesus.

Leaders in Crown regularly attend New Ground prayer days and conferences, helping us to keep our eyes on the bigger picture. New Ground leaders also regularly travel over to support and challenge us.

We believe in…

  • The one true God who lives eternally in three persons—the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
  • The love, grace and sovereignty of God in creating, sustaining, ruling, redeeming and judging the world.
  • The divine inspiration and supreme authority of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, which are the written Word of God—fully trustworthy for faith and conduct.
  • The dignity of all people, made male and female in God’s image to love, be holy and care for creation, yet corrupted by sin, which incurs divine wrath and judgement.
  • The incarnation of God’s eternal Son, the Lord Jesus Christ—born of the virgin Mary; truly divine and truly human, yet without sin.
  • The atoning sacrifice of Christ on the cross: dying in our place, paying the price of sin and defeating evil, so reconciling us with God.
  • The bodily resurrection of Christ, the first-fruits of our resurrection; his ascension to the Father, and his reign and mediation as the only Saviour of the world.
  • The justification of sinners solely by the grace of God through faith in Christ.
  • The ministry of God the Holy Spirit, who leads us to repentance, unites us with Christ through new birth, empowers our discipleship and enables our witness.
  • The Church, the body of Christ both local and universal, the priesthood of all believers—given life by the Spirit and endowed with the Spirit’s gifts to worship God and proclaim the gospel, promoting justice and love.
  • The personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to fulfil the purposes of God, who will raise all people to judgement, bring eternal life to the redeemed and eternal condemnation to the lost, and establish a new heaven and new earth.
